Sharon had stumbled across my website some time back and asked if i could do some cupcakes for her son’s birthday. As her son loves trucks, diggers, etc, Sharon asked if i could do some construction theme cupcakes for her son.

Sharon already knew what she wanted for the cupcake designs and after some research on my part to decide how to go about doing them, these were what the cupcakes looked like with some close up pics of the cupcakes

Sharon had sent me a picture of her boy which she requested the figurine i make look like, and the construction worker toy that her son always plays with.. so that’s what i based the above toppers on. I thought they turned out quite well

Maggie’s son was celebrating his first birthday and liked the cake i had done for Natalie previously and asked if i could do something similar but of course with some changes so that the cake would be suitable for a boy.
Maggie’s final design for the cake was that the boy be in a little cap, wearing a little hoodie jacket and blue and black striped tights, holding a basketball and tigger. Maggie had also sent me a picture of her son with what she wanted the figurine to be wearing so i could get it accurate.

This was the final picture of the cake. I thought it turned out quite cute and i hope that Maggie and her son both liked the cake

I received an e-mail from Germaine sometime back asing if i could do some simple cupcakes for her as she was celebrating her 4th anniversary with her boyfriend.
After some discussion with her, she requested for a cupcake with a boy and a girl figurine, and a cupcake with the words “4th anni” on it. She also sent me some pictures of her and her boyfriend as she wanted the boy figurine to be wearing her boyfriend’s favourite jacket.
Hopefully they both liked the cupcakes

I got a request for a really specialised valentine day cupcakes which i had a great time making. The reason was that this particular batch of cupcakes were really really customised. Every single cupcake was different and every single cupcake had a little story attached to it for the couple.

Unfortunately, they had requested that i not name who they are.. so sorry no names
The girl had requested for these special cupcakes for her boyfriend and each cupcake topper was specifically requested by her as they each had a special meaning for her and her boyfriend. What were the cupcake toppers she requested for you might ask? Well, these included a boy and girl figurine to represent the 2 of them, a figurine of a boy who was still in his army uniform with a handphone in his hand as the he used to wait for her call all the time when he was in the army, cathay movie tickets since they love to watch movies, a dragon and a snake to represent each of their zodiac signs, Mr Bean since the boy loves soya bean, and i even got a chance to try my hand at making a carebear cupcake again!! Yay! There were also several other toppers which i shall not go on to name, but i really thought that this was such as sweet gift since each and every single topper had a special meaning for the couple and was a celebration of little captions of the love.

Although these cupcakes took quite a bit of time to make, since every single cupcake had a different topper and required a different colour fondant, i was really happy with the way they turned out and hope that the boy loved the cupcakes when he got it, especially since there was so much thought and meaning behind each and every single topper for this very special valentine’s gift
Happy Valentine’s Day you two

Joanna stumbled across my website when she went searching for a way to celebrate her baby’s 1st month. She saw the cake i had done previously for a friend’s 1st month celebration and loved it and hoped that i could squeeze in her order.

After a lot of persuasion on her part, i finally agreed to squeeze it into my schedule. Due to the short notice, i couldn’t do the cradle for her as there wasn’t enough time for the cradle parts to dry before the cake was due. So Joanna asked if i could add in her son and daughter into the cake design instead. I agreed and requested for a picture of their happy family
haha.. from the picture Joanna sent me, i noticed that her son was quite cheeky, but since it was Cameron’s 1st month celebration, i amended the position of the figurines a little so that Cameron would be the centre of attraction and would have the whole family surrounding him
I decided to leave the cake relatively simple since i wanted Cameron and the other family figurines to be the centre of attraction for the cake. This was the final result. I was really happy with the way the figurines turned out and i thought they looked rather like the photo Joanna had sent me
What do you think?

My friend Jane, whom had also previously ordered the butterfly cupcakes. She had a friend whose birthday was coming up and she wondered if i could do some F1 cupcakes. In addition to some F1 car cupcakes, she also wanted one cupcake to have a little boy who was wearing some race wear to be one of the toppers.
This was to represent the birthday boy
So after several discussions with her, i started on the F1 cars and the little boy topper. These were pretty fun to make and it was fun to make the little boy. Funniest thing was that at the end of the day, my friend decided to change the wording from Happy Birthday Mark to Happy Birthday “Leh Cheh” which means troublesome. Hee…
Here’s a shout out to Mark wishing him a very Happy Birthday and i hope he liked the cupcakes!

I got a mail from Mabel just the other day asking if i could do a cake for her son’s birthday. Mabel had seen the cake I’d done for Wenqi and was impressed with the figurines. As such she wanted me to do a cake for her.
Her only request was that the cake included a hippo. Why a hippo you might ask… well.. the story Mabel told me is so sweet and romantic!
Apparently Mabel is a fan of hippo’s and loves any hippo or hippo related stuff and collects them. So while she and her husband were dating, he had given her a little hippo soft toy. Later, after they got married and had their son Jing Le, this little hippo soft toy was then passed on to Jing Le and became one of Jing Le’s favourite toy. Isn’t the story so sweet!!!
So for them, the hippo has a deep meaning for them and was a must to be included in the cake design. As such, after discussing some various cake ideas with Mabel, Mabel finally decided on having a little boy topper in bed reading (since her son loves books) with the little hippo toy topper next to the boy. This design was perfect as Mabel told me that she always tucks the little hippo next to Jing Le when he goes to sleep.
During the process of making the topper, i was thinking long and hard about how to make the bed. Initially i was thinking of making the whole bed out of fondant but this would make the topper very heavy. So after much consideration and after cracking my brain, i finally hit upon a brilliant idea and decided to make the bed out of chocolate wafers instead. The chocolate wafers worked perfectly and i was ecstatic with the way the bed turned out!

My favourite for this cake was the little hippo i made. Don’t you think he looks like the soft toy!!
This little fella was only about the size of one segment of my pinkie and i was very happy that i managed to fit in so much detail on the hippo notwithstanding how tiny he was
Oh and did you notice the little dimples i added onto the little figurine to make it resemble Jing Le :) The hairstyle here is a little different as Mabel requested that i spike up the hair on the figurine
I thought this cake turned out great and I just hope that Mabel and her son loved the cake as much as i did, and they had as much fun eating it as i had making it
Happy Birthday Jing Le!
