It was such a coincidence today. I had just finished talking to Jaslyn about her sheep cake when i received a call from Ngian Mei. Ngian Mei was looking for some birthday cupcakes for her friend Victor and for one of the toppers she also requested for a little sheep!
Such a coincidence don’t you think. I’d not gotten any previous requests for sheep toppers before and now within a week’s time i had 2!
Anyway, i had a fun time making the sheep and making them always puts me in a good mood. I think it’s because i always associate sheep with my bed and well.. haha.. sleeping. And since i’m a little piggy at heart, thinking about my bed always puts me in a good mood
Hopefully Victor liked the cupcakes too!

Yen contacted me and asked if i could do a Pooh tea party cake for her daughter’s upcoming birthday. Her daughter since young always held tea party’s with her toys and as such, Yen wanted to do a Pooh tea party cake for her birthday.. the twist was that Nemo had to be at the Pooh tea party too!!
So after thinking long and hard about how to do the cake and include Nemo, i decided to do the base colour fondant in blue to represent water, and have a patch of grass at the top of the cake where the tea party would be held.
I added some little fishes and algae to the side of the cake as well to make it look as if you were looking into an aquarium
I loved the colours used on this cake which i thought really made it stand out. Don’t you think so?

I got an e-mail from Cherine some time back and when i finished reading her e-mail i was stunned and ecstatic!!! She was doing a promotion for L’oreal Paris and was looking for someone to do some cupcakes for her with the L’oreal Paris logo.
Oh wow!!! This was such a honour.. to be asked to do cupcakes for a promotion! Ok ok… cool down!! I was probably getting ahead of myself.. they were only asking me for a price quote after all and i mean i may not be chosen in the end right? Right!! But come on how could i not get excited about this right?!!! haha..
Anyway after some discussion with Cherine, the final decision was that we would use edible images to do the L’oreal Paris logo which would be placed as a topper on top of swirls of icing and let the cupcakes be decorated with simple decorations such as sugar pearls or silver dragees to compliment the theme of the event.
As i don’t have an edible image printer at home, i had to source for someone to do the edible image for me and had sent them off to be printed when i got a call from Cherine 2 days before the actual event when she told me that there was an error in the logo they had previously sent me and it needed to be changed!! Yikes!! Unfortunately the printer had already printed out the logos for me so after some fast thinking on Cherine’s part, we chopped part of the logo i had printed so we were left with just the “White Perfect” which was what the event was for. With one disaster averted i was keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else would go wrong since troubles usually come in 3’s.
Well… luckily everything else went great and the cupcakes turned out great. I quickly packed them in boxes and off they went to their event! A couple of days later i heard back from Cherine who told me that the cupcakes were a hit at the event! It was the only item that had the attendees going back for more. haha.. oh wow!! I feel so honoured
Thanks Cherine for the opportunity to do the cupcakes for your event :)

As everyone knows New Year has just passed and Chinese New Year is just round the corner. To kick off the New Year and provide everyone in my extended family to catch up with each other, my cousin opened up her home and invited all of us for a Popiah party. Coincidentally the party also fell on another of my cousin’s daughter’s birthday. Thus, not only did we have a great family gathering, we also celebrated Christy’s birthday.
As Christy was also inviting some friends to her home the next day, her mom Sylvia asked if i could make some Cinnamoroll cupcakes for Christy as Christy loves Cinnamoroll. After doing some research on what Cinnamoroll is and what it looks like, i sent a couple of pictures for Christy to decide which she liked best. After making her selection, i then began making the cupcakes.
These were the final photos. I think they turned out quite cute don’t you think so
Here’s wishing Christy a very Happy Birthday and i hope she and her friends enjoyed eating the cupcakes
