Amy and her friends have been repeat customers of mine and i have to give a shout out to them for their continued support of my cupcakes and for always thinking of me whenever they want something special
Thanks you guys!!
This time round Any wanted some cupcakes for her friend and the designs she requested for included branded bags, an airplane, a pilot, Singapore flag, Tiffany ring, a house, a car and a baby. My favourite among all the designs for these cupcakes had to be the Tiffany ring

Jana had come across my website and wanted a cake similar to one that I’d done previously here for a baby’s 1st month celebration.
After speaking to Jana to find out more about what she wanted on the cake and obtaining pictures of her family, i set out to do the figurines for her. As i wanted something a little different from the other family cake i did for Joanna i decided to change the family positions a little as well as have the baby sucking on a bottle rather than just being held in her mother’s arms.
I liked how the final design turned out and hopefully Jana liked it too

I got a call from Cheryl about a week back asking me if i could rush out a cake for her on Wednesday the 11th of February as they were celebrating her father’s and her nephew’s birthday which coincidentally falls on the same day and she wanted a cake with some figurine toppers for them.
As the celebration was going to be a small family one, she didn’t need a big cake and only required a 6″ cake. Her request for the cake design, a topper of her father and her nephew on the top of the cake, and with the words Happy B’day on the side of the cake. As it was a relatively small cake, the topper would take up most of the space on the top of the cake and wouldn’t need any additional accents to make it a gorgeous cake, so i agreed to rush out the cake for her
It was only when we were chatting that i realised Cheryl was actually a neighbour and lived only 1 or 2 blocks away from me!! What a coincidence!! haha…
Anyway, after receiving a picture that Cheryl sent me of her father and nephew, i quickly set out to make the figurines
I think i’ve sort of started to get to the stage where i’m comfortable doing figurines for cakes and adding the little touches that hopefully make the figurines look like those in the photo. Don’t get me wrong though, if you ask me, i’ll be the first to admit that i’m no fabulous artist or sculptor who can do a fantastic likeness of the photos provided to me, but i do think the little things like hairstyle or the clothes, do help to personalise the little figurines and create a likeness to the photos
I still think i’m a long way off in making my figurines little works of art, but i think i’m slowly getting there.. and for me, all i hope for is that the people who are on the receiving end of these cakes get a nice surprise and a big smile on their face when they see the cake
Hopefully that’s what happened when Cheryl presented this little cake to her father and son on their birthday

Joanna stumbled across my website when she went searching for a way to celebrate her baby’s 1st month. She saw the cake i had done previously for a friend’s 1st month celebration and loved it and hoped that i could squeeze in her order.

After a lot of persuasion on her part, i finally agreed to squeeze it into my schedule. Due to the short notice, i couldn’t do the cradle for her as there wasn’t enough time for the cradle parts to dry before the cake was due. So Joanna asked if i could add in her son and daughter into the cake design instead. I agreed and requested for a picture of their happy family
haha.. from the picture Joanna sent me, i noticed that her son was quite cheeky, but since it was Cameron’s 1st month celebration, i amended the position of the figurines a little so that Cameron would be the centre of attraction and would have the whole family surrounding him
I decided to leave the cake relatively simple since i wanted Cameron and the other family figurines to be the centre of attraction for the cake. This was the final result. I was really happy with the way the figurines turned out and i thought they looked rather like the photo Joanna had sent me
