Hi all…. i’ll be going away on a short trip to Perth beginning on the 26th of May and will be back only on the 8th of June. Sorry to disappoint everyone who is hoping to get cakes or cupcakes during this period of time.. but i’m taking this little break to visit my niece in law… (hmm… is there such a word?) Claire who was born just 1 month ago and who is celebrating her full month today!! Happy 1st month Claire!!
She’s really chubby and cute from all the photos i’ve seen so far of her.. and i’ve been hearing from my mother in law that Claire looks exactly like my hubby when he was a baby.. real chubby and cute! So i’m off to Perth to visit Claire and see how much she resembles my hubby
I’ll be back on the 8th of June and hopefully after this short break i’ll be raring to go!! I’m so sorry to everyone whose orders i’ve had to turn down due to my trip but i really do hope to have the chance to bake something for you guys in the future!
Well… i’m off to my nice cool weather in Perth where i’ll look forward to stuffing myself silly with all my favourite foods… Freemantle crepes, Fast Eddy’s, Nando’s, Broadway Pizza, Chilli Muscles, and of course my beloved TIM TAMS!!!!….. ready or not here i come!!!

Maggie’s son was celebrating his first birthday and liked the cake i had done for Natalie previously and asked if i could do something similar but of course with some changes so that the cake would be suitable for a boy.
Maggie’s final design for the cake was that the boy be in a little cap, wearing a little hoodie jacket and blue and black striped tights, holding a basketball and tigger. Maggie had also sent me a picture of her son with what she wanted the figurine to be wearing so i could get it accurate.

This was the final picture of the cake. I thought it turned out quite cute and i hope that Maggie and her son both liked the cake

I received an e-mail from Germaine sometime back asing if i could do some simple cupcakes for her as she was celebrating her 4th anniversary with her boyfriend.
After some discussion with her, she requested for a cupcake with a boy and a girl figurine, and a cupcake with the words “4th anni” on it. She also sent me some pictures of her and her boyfriend as she wanted the boy figurine to be wearing her boyfriend’s favourite jacket.
Hopefully they both liked the cupcakes

Isabel contacted me sometime back asking if i could do a special cupcake for her. The cupcakes were for a friend’s 23rd birthday and she wanted one of the cupcakes to have Dopey, one of the seven dwarfs.
It was my first attempt at making Dopey one of the 7 dwarfs but i think i really managed to capture Dopey’s look for the topper. Hopefully i’ll be able to get a request in the future for a cake for Snow White and the 7 dwarfs! Can’t wait to attempt making all the individual characters!
Here’s another close up look of the Dopey figurine. I love him! One of my best efforts so far i think
In addition to the Dopey cupcakes, Isabel also asked if i could do some soccer cupcakes for her for a friend’s 28th birthday. She had seen the previous soccer cupcakes i had done and wanted something similar. Here’s what i made this time round

Yup, this was another request for a Pooh cake from Stacy. As her daughter loved Heffalump, she asked if i could do a Pooh cake with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and of course Heffalump as the central figurine for the cake. In addition, as she was worried that there might not be enough cake, she also ordered a box of bee cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting to complement the cake.
I’ve done a few Heffalumps but realised that i still haven’t managed to get Heffalump down pat the past few times i did the figurine of Lumpy, so this time i looked at a bigger picture of Heffalump and tried to figure out what details were missing from the Lumpy figurines i’ve done previously. As such, this time, i added the little sewing lines on Lumpy that weren’t there before which i thought really helped to make my Lumpy figurine look more like Lumpy

I liked the colours on this cake and again, i had an opportunity to use my butterfly cutters for the border of the cake and on top of the number “5″ on the cake. What do you think? Don’t you think the cake looked so sweet
And i bet with the little bee cupcakes arranged around the cake, i think this would look totally cute
Don’t you?

Valerie asked if i could do some cupcakes for her with an assorted design which were for her friend’s birthday. What did she request for you might ask… well, she wanted an avatar of who i believe was Irene, a yellow Mini, and some mahjong tiles, a sunshine bear, and a black and white hello kitty.
These were quite fun to make especially the avatar… and i hope i managed to capture the likeness of the avatar in the cupcake

Lisa contacted me sometime back asking if i could do a customised cake for her. However, she was torn between what cake toppers she wanted for the cake since her daughter actually had several favourites.
After some discussion with me as to whether i would be able to combine the different cartoon characters that her daughter liked on the cake, which i said would not be a problem, she informed me that the cake toppers she wanted included Peppa the pig, George the pig, Tigger and of course, Barney!
She wanted a sky theme for the cake with all of them having a picnic and balloons and flowers and butterflies all around the cake.
With the design already decided, i went ahead to do the cake toppers and this was the final result! I though the colours complimented each other quite well and i loved my new butterfly cutters which enabled me to do these fantastic butterflies along the border of the cake!
Hopefully Nikki, the birthday girl loved the decorations on the cake as much as i did. Happy Birthday Nikki!!

Yvonne contacted me asking if i could do some cupcakes for a hen’s night for her. She had in her e-mail already sourced for details on how she wanted the cupcakes to look like, and asked if i would be able to replicate those same cupcakes for her.
After a look, i told her it should be no problem to do.
I’m not sure if i can post these pictures up, so just a word of warning, pictures below are a little sexually explicit and may be offensive to some. So don’t scroll down to look at the pictures if you below 18 and if you think you might find them offensive :p I thought they looked pretty realistic and was a little grossed out while doing them.. but they were seriously fun to do and i couldn’t stop giggling when i was adding the finishing touches to them.. hee.. I guess the hen’s night must have been a pretty wild party
Gotta learn how i can sensor these pics unless someone wants to see them :p Anyone knows??

Heng Yee contacted me asking if i could do some cupcakes for her which would be suitable for her grandmother who was celebrating her birthday.
After some discussion with her, Heng Yee decided on requesting for “Shou Tou” cupcakes, with a figurine of her grandma on one of the cupcakes, and having some chinese characters on the rest of the cupcakes. For those of you that don’t know what “Shou Tou” is, it’s actually something like a bun which Chinese usually have during birthday celebrations as a sign of longevity. They are supposed to look something like a peach.
This was the first time i had the opportunity to make the “Shou Tou” toppers but i thought it looked really great. Here’s a picture of the cupcakes where the grandma hadn’t been completed (i.e. spectacles and details to grandma’s dress were not done up yet). The design on grandma’s dress was painstakingly painted on by me after everything else was complete. I was really happy with how the grandma turned out and hoepfully grandma enjoyed the look of the cupcakes and everyone had a fun time looking at them too!!
Thanks for the request Heng Yee… i had a really fun time doing up the Shou Tou’s and your little grandma figurine
Stupid me didn’t manage to take some good close up shots of the shou tou and grandma figurine. Arrgghh…

Mel had e-mailed me after seeing the branded bag cupcakes that have been requested for several times on my web, and asked if i could do up 2 orders of cupcakes for her.
Her first order was for some birthday cupcakes to a good friend who loved shoes and bags, while her 2nd order were cupcakes for her hubby, which were meant to be a gift from her son to her hubby. As she wanted the latter box of cupcakes to also appeal to her son, but which wouldn’t cost too much, i decided on doing some gingerbread men on some of the cupcakes, and for the rest of the designs, Mel requested pillows since her hubby loved to sleep, and a little dog.
I thought the cupcakes turned out looking really cute and hopefully everyone was happy when they saw the final results of the cupcakes
